I was invited to lead a creative workshop for a retreat in Union Pier, Michigan later this week and am over the top excited about it! Mara Glatzel, the brilliant mind behind it all, and Cookie, her partner and food wizard, will undoubtedly provide an experience unlike anything I've ever been lucky enough to experience.
An excerpt from the retreat description- "At it’s core, Wild Adoration is about engaging in joyful experimentation with your life, remembering how to chase what lights you up, and declaring your deep desires and “foolish” plans as you are lovingly witnessed."
I can't even. Chocolate. Art. Bubble baths. Cookie's food. Nature. Quiet. Yes, to all of it.
I am really looking forward to meeting the other women attending the retreat and sharing new art techniques and undoubtedly learning, as I do always, as I teach. I've chosen a fun, playful method to share. We'll use acrylic paint layered on canvas boards to create an imaginative flow of flowers and petals. Using a spray bottle we'll create stems and leaves by allowing the water to drip where it may. I've been experimenting all week with very interesting results! Carrie Schmitt and Flora Bowley are the inspiration here, two artists I've been admiring for many years. I can't wait!
